Mercury is the smallest and innermost planet in our solar system. Due to its position, it is not only rarely visible, but also difficult to explore. Additionally, it is the fastest of the eight planets and therefore owes its name to the winged messenger of the gods, Mercurio. In only 88 days it completes one orbit around the Sun. Mercury's surface with its countless craters resembles that of the Earth's moon and consists of rough stone, which barely reflects the light of the sun and makes it one of the darker planets.
