Because it reflects 68% of the sunlight it receives, it is one of the brightest bodies in our solar system. The striking network of furrows that characterizes Europa's appearance could have been created by ice volcanism or warm geysers - but either way, in combination with its reddish hue, they make Europa unmistakable.
