CALLISTO Regent Desktop Globe
General information
Illuminated globe with acrylic sphere, Ø 40 cm, hand-coated, stainless steel.
Discovered by Galileo Galilei in 1610 like all four of Jupiter's Galilean moons, Callisto is the third largest moon in our solar system. It is an ice moon, with an ocean of liquid salt water hidden beneath its solid crust. Callisto's surface is considerably darker than that of Jupiter's other moons, reflecting only 20% of the sun's irradiated light. Nevertheless, huge impact basins and concentric ring walls are clearly visible, characterizing the appearance of the most cratered body in our solar system. This structure formed billions of years ago still fascinates today with its contrasting beauty.
The classic and elegant yet puristic sparkling mounting obtains its dimly glimmering shine through a special stainless steel finish. This product of great manual skill transforms your globe into an expression of a particular quality of life, which will continue to bring you joy for decades.
